Default Micro GBX RTR wire/turns, anybody know?

Hi All,

It's been a while since I made a purchase from GB, but I am considering one now.
I'm interested in the 13.99mm, Micro GBX. The only performance info I can find is in your Micro 10g Ready to Run Motor ad.
A light motor with 200g of thrust is what I'm after for my Czech made 'Free air, Jak55', which has been sitting in a box for six years waiting to be built.

My question is, what size wire and how many turns are used in the Micro 10g Ready to Run Motor? It would also be good to know the wind on the RTR Nano.
I'd like this info to use as a starting point for my own wind.
Any info from anybody would be appreciated.

Regards,
Hubert.

i regret that i do not have the info you are looking for.
we sell a lot of these motors and if i can get my hands on a bad motor i would be happy to dissect it and collect the data for you.

These motors have 20 turns of 30 gauge wire. These motors are 2 cell. 3 cells will make them hot even without a load (prop). I use a gws 6X3 2 blade or 6X3 3blade. The 3 blade will make them warm but not hot. I think a GWS 7X3 2 blade would work well but I don't have one. I have 4 of these motors. I was flying them on a 4.5 oz plane and 6.5 oz twin and they were ok but I prefer the mini GBX so I stopped using them. I'm going to try and get 24 turns on them and see how they run. I did manage to get 22 turns on but i have not run it.

Thanks for the info dmreyno, I’m sure it will be of use to others.
I have since, also purchased a mini GBX and found it a great match for the ‘Free air, Jak55’.
I managed to squeeze in 25 turns of 26AWG wire and connected it “Y”.
With a GWS 8040 prop. I get:
9 oz. static thrust @8v, 4.54A.
12 oz. static thrust @10v, 6.25A.
Great little motor.
I'll try to post a pic.
