EDF 55 Q's

Ok I have pretty much emptied my plate, now is the time to plan my next folly.

I'll be building 2 EDF 55 with GBV power. for an airliner foam glider plane. May later go with three for an L1011 look.

Any one got any specifics they have used? I'm thinkin 8p 10t wye to start or 8p 14t delta? but it's just a wild guess.

does the EDF-55 have the same outer case for both the 150 and 300 motors?

I made an AL mount for a gearbox the other day and decided the gearbox idea stunk (I can get more thrust with the right prop direct)...but the mount style would work in an EDF.

Any inputs would be appreciated.

I believe the EDF-55 150 can accommodate a 24mm diameter motor. I am not sure about EDf-55 300, but I assume it is the same.

I doubt the 22.7 stator from the GBV will work in this "stator can in rotor" application however. You should be able to use the 20mm stator and can however.
