Hi.

I rewinded a 6 arm stator I got from a CD Rom drive and with the original can and the original can magnet it runs very nice and fast.
Now I want to put neodyne magnets to get more power but I don't know how many magnets should I put in the can and how...

I have theese magnets but I'm not shure if they will work:

NdFeB N45 6.0x2.6x1.0mm magnets

Help please!!! ;)

Thanks

Oscar

the type of magnets is very good. Can't reply on the size as I need to know the exact size of the stator and the inside of the bell.

You can then use the Rotor Calculator (http://www.gobrushless.com/testing/motor_rotor_calculator.php) to see if they will fit. You want about a 0.2mm airgap.

Hi.

The stator is less than 20 mm.
The question is if I should put all the magnets to fill the bell or if I should put less magnets and leave a mm distance between them.
I've seen bells with the inside all filled up with magnets and I've seen other bells that they have less magnets and a distance between them...

Thanks

Oops, I missed that one. You have to use the corrext amount of magnets for you motor to run correctly. A 6 arm stator would need 4 or 8 poles. The coverege of the bell with magnets should be around 80%. You can combine magnts 2 by 2 to double the number of magnets without doubling the number of poles.

You can find a chart on motor poles, stator arms and windings here : http://www.powerditto.de/Kombinationstabelle2.html
