Hi Guys, I'd like to help with the start of the information coming in with regard to the GB 25 mm stators. I'm on my fourth LRK style motor now. They are surprisingl strong running. The one pictured here was made to convert the plane shown to electric. The plane flew with both .061 and .074 motors. The motor is wound LRK Distributed with 20.5 turns of double strand #30 wire - Delta. I'm using 10 poles on this one because I thought I'd need a little more speed for this conversion. I almost always use three cell lithiums. The motor, in preliminary tests, produces 24 to 29 ounces of thrust with varied 8 and 9 inch props. The amp draw is between 10 and 13 amps depending on the combination and state of the charged battry. The motor weighs in at 1.15 ounces because of the magnesium end bell and motor mount. Note the extended length so to match the cowling of the Yellow Bird. Incidentally I might be comparing 10 pole to 12 on a few of the wider stator motors. I like the way the 10 is doing. I noticed also, there is almost no cogging at all.
Happy Motoring
John

As always your motors are beautious. It appears that Jay C has snuck about and groomed the performance data base to hold 12 arms also. He didn't mention it and I only found out when I posted a GBX2 with segmented ring magnets. I posted 2 of my LRKs just to spite him. A 16t and a 18t they show up as 4 different motors as I tested both motors in delta and wye. Very nice job he did on it too. I think he didn't mention it because when he gets enough data he'll need to go back to the motor calculator :P .

I promised Jay that I would get some data to him also. I was waiting for a power supply so I wouldn't tax my batteries as much. Man, It was working great until I did the unspeakable, and hooked a battery up to it backwards. Now I need to find out if I can fix it. I never thought the Autumn years of my life would find me being so absent minded (STUPID).

Hi, Yet Again, I've asked many times in many places if anyone else has ever tested their motors with these Slim Props. As far as I know they only come in two sizes 8-4 and 9-5. On every motor that I tested using these, they equal or exceed the thrust of other standards in the same realm. This includes the other Graupner props like the Cam and the Cam Slim. This is good but the best is: It uses about 20% less power while performing well. The prop itself though is fairly heavy compared to a park flyer style. Slightly heavier than an APC equivalent also. I'm wondering if anyone else knows anything that would work as well as this? Do you think this prop lools like the equivelant of a folding prop? Has anyone tried fixing a Qraupner folding prop so it wouldn't fold? For some reason the folding props that I have used really seem to perform well.
