Hi All

Newb needs a bit of help

I'm about to rewind my axi 2208 which has 12 teeth and 14 poles

According to Motor Winding Scheme Calculator V1.0 at http://www.bavaria-direct.co.za/models/files/Winding_Scheme_Calculator.htm
I should use AabBCcaABbcC

However according to Wiring Diagram table here http://fast-results.com/lnl/nutpol_e.htm
I should use AacCBbaACcbB

Which is correct?

ok I guess they are both the same except the b's and c's are transposed

How would I wire this config for star (wye) or delta?

TIA

I would say they are the same. I do KNOW that my home made out runner with a GB 12 arm 10mm stack and 14 poles 18t AacCBbaACcbB ran fine both wye and delta. I tested it both ways of termination. I had that cunumdrum when I went to delta, and just decided to call the a's phase 1 b's p2, c's phase 3, worked fine but a little slow for my usage. I just finished the can for a 12mm stack of 12arm 25mm gonna be 10 pole 18t delta. I've posted results here http://www.gobrushless.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=324

You posted while I was posting wye will still be all the starts or ends joined, and other 3 to ESC.

The chart is half right & half wrong. If you look at the full 12 pole wind for 14 magnets it says AacCBbaACcbB, but the 6 pole wind says A-b-C-a-B-c which is in conflict. The 12 pole wind is a misprint. It should be AabBCcaABbcC, the same as the one listed for 10 magnets. If you look at 12 pole 10 magnet configuration, the 12-pole and 6-pole winds agree with each other. This is verified by the wind calculator at the other website which gives the same wind for both 10 magnet and 14 magnet motors, namely AabBCcaABbcC.

Hope that clears thing up. I have looked at that chart several times and never noticed that misprint before. That would really suck to go to all the trouble to wind one only to find that it was done wrong!

Good Luck!

Funny that. In my building that motor I never thought of it. The wrong way works though. I guess as long as the case order is correct it is correct, maybe like switching two wires to reverse rotation? I thought about it for a while (how to term it delta) and gave up and figured "if it don't work I'll redo the other way". Maybe just a bit of humor from the author. :)

Exactly, switching two phases internally is equivalent to swapping two wires externally - it just changes the direction. It's not wrong, but it may be inconsistent.
