Hi Guys, I'd like to talk about more 12 leg stator options if anyone would like to help. I've made my first motor with GB 25mm 12 legs stators. These were a 15mm long stack. My wind was 13 turns of 3 strand #30 wire on 12 legs Delta. the magnets were as the first picture 2x4x15. The motor runs really good, and now I want to try a 27.5mm motor as below, but I read about different things. The magnets should take up 80 t0 85% of the flux ring. Also the number of magnets should be close to the number of stator legs. That one has been working good for me. Also that maybe the magnets should be as wide as the top of the leg. Is that the foot? Anyway as you can see there's a lot of space between the magnets on the 4/14, which makes me think the 5/14 might work a little stronger. But the 5/16 probably takes up about 85% of the ring. But the 4/16 dosen't really look like a bad idea either. I know more magnets = stronger and less magnets = faster, but can all the above options produce the same thrust by using different props. Anyone care to pick a picture that looks good to them? I know the prop thing is a loaded question, because everything is different in the air and the style of plane comes into the picture, but I mean in general.

I just finished my 1st also though a 10mm stack. Tested it out and posted the results in another topic here in motor theory. I haven't re terminated it delta yet and retested so I only know what I expect it to do as a delta. I am thinking 20 magnets 4x10x2 nnssnn etc. I'tll work with the same dimensions I built with. It's just a thought. 10 poles is starting to look pretty good to me. I haven't figured out for sure how I want to do it but I think thats "coming soon"

I'm still looking for my big props I put in a "safe place" to finish testing wye. I'm thinking 13x8 and the thing will start looking OK and delta with the 13x8 would start to make me look for a bigger airplane to put it on. :)

I got to spend some quality time in the garage and knocked out 2 endbells for a twin. I'll work on them while I order more magnets, stators, wire, and bearings.
