how many magnets?

I'm building a double whopper with 10x4x2 magnets, and can fit 18 magnets in the bell. Will this work (9 leg stator)?

Hi Steve, I don't think that 18 is an option for a 9 leg stator. Even if you doubled up the poles you come out to 9 which also isn't an option according to the winding tables. 10 should work but requires the special wind using AaABbBCcC. If you use 12 magnets the wind is easy ABCABCABC. Maybe Jay or someone will give you the winding table site. I forgot where I got it from. Carfull about the brass. Aren't you worried about the weight?. If you have a lathe, It's easy to make a flux ring that can be pressed on and glued to a custom aluminum end bell. You'll run into some of DadHav's motors aroung the site.
